hmmm...somehow I have always pictured the Alpha female as the one who can walk alone when she wants to, but will be glad for company, IF it is meaningful enough. Company, not taking care of.
But then that may not be very different in what u said in the last line. "That strength, passion, courage, hope and love have come together and are at home." Only, I'd want all these on BOTH sides of the relationship, and in equal proportions :)

I dunno... maybe all Alpha persons are insecure essentially and look for other people against who they can assert themselves and reassure themselves.

Or maybe being Alpha all the time is too stressful and they yearn for somebody with whom they can be less Alpha.

Also I am sure some part of every Alpha person is pretense and they are happy to be in the presence of somebody with whom they can be just themselves.

Interesting question is - what kind of a person is the best mate for an Alpha female? I don't think it can be an Alpha male so what would his characteristics be...

@d: Thats interesting. I've never thought of Alpha males and females as having good physical attributes. I think of them as strong people who know have conviction, endeavour to stand by their principles whatever they might be, go after their goals and the endurance to stand by their beliefs/friends/family or what they believe is right. These are not necessarily aggressive people. I would say Teresa was an Alpha female even though she was soft spoken and gentle, she had conviction in her beliefs and went after her dream. But I guess strength could be argued in many ways :-) So what would the Omega specias be like?
@Tsu: :-)
@Iditis: I dunno...I would love to hear it come from a male...since I can't think like a guy I find a guy's opinion on this very enigmatic and interesting.
@Varun: What do you think of all this?

Alpha male & female, would make a great progeny. But the thought of Alpha male restricted to physical attributes may be too practical.
I don't know...will you call Hitler, gandhi, rooselvet and even the now-famous Jinnah, alpha males? or Indira, Margret Thatcher, or Mother teresa...alpha females?
Will we get as you desired in their company or as some study said that wives and husbands of such people had a real bad life..
Practically, physically good looking species have an advantage.
I don't know...neither am an aplha male or have the oppurtunity to be with an alpha female.
I guess there should be a new species -- Omega--- anyhow nice thought provoking read :)

Beautifully worded! Would you say this would apply just as well to a 'strong man'?
